My mom wanted o ask you guys and your mom’s some stuff. She hasn’t ever had an Airedale before and can’t find what she is looking for online. Here she is…
Hello everybody I was hoping you could help me with a few questions about Airekids.
1. If you don’t glue the ears down will they stick straight up or will they just hang at a less perfect angle? I seem to find conflicting info on this.
2. During teething did your Airedales get bloody mouths? Diggs gets a bloody mouth sometimes and it seems to come from the back moler area. Is this normal? Should I be worried? He is still eating ok.
3. How long did it take before your Airekids started sleeping through the night?
4. Any other advice of any kind at all, or stories of warning would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance for the help. I’ll turn it back over to Digsby now.
OK Mom! I don’t care what these people tell you I am NOT going to let you put glue in my ears. No way, No how, Not now, Not ever! If I even think I smell Elmer’s in the same room as me I am soo outta here! You can just drop that thought RIGHT NOW!
Also wakeing up from 1 to 2:30 am is part of who I am! You should accept it. Maybe if you didn’t work all day and took a nap instead you could get up too and we could have some fun.
On a happier note…. I Graduated! There was no test so my attendance alone was enough. Mom just mumbled something about “thank goodness there was no test”.
I heard that and didn’t think that was very nice Mom! You aren’t doing a very good job today, and you should know I’m serious about that glue thing! Even a little whiff on the breeze….
Anyway, I graduated from puppy class and do you know what I got? NOTHING! I got Nothing. I did all those “sits,” “stays,” and “comes,” and I didn’t even get my name engraved on a plaque. I think I should have gotten something don’t you? Me too.

I'm going off to be sulky in a corner now. Talk to you guys later.
Ciao bello Diggers!
ReplyDeleteI think I am only a couple of months older than you, so mia ragazza and I have gone through lots of things your mama is asking about and probably have some info for you. Because it would take too long to answer in your bloggie comment section, mia ragazza says to email us at aireluciaATgmailDOTcom and we'll help in any way we can.
Tanti baci!
Lucia
Geez, Digsby! No even a certificate for graduating that you can frame? We think that's kinda rude!
ReplyDeleteWe never had our ears glued, not me or Mitch! Mom told us our ears were pretty just the way they were!
Mom doesn't remember us bleeding an excessive amount when we were teething. Chewing on a Nylabone can make our teeth bleed now if we're too aggressive with it!
Mom says that we've never had a problem sleeping through the night!
Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch
I had perfect ears until something mysterious happened when no one was paying attention when I was around seven months old... then they kind of took on a life of their own. We call them Grommet ears. They are very cute, but not classic Airedale. Glueing might be the price one has to pay.
ReplyDeletecheers,
Ruby
Never glued my ears. They are perfect the way they are! No bleeding when teething, and I didn't swallow any of my teeth. Mom found them laying on the the floor. Our vet said that was weird that dogs usually just swallow them.I still wake up around 330am to go potty, but that is cuz Daddy gets up then.Once we go back home to farrr N.Idaho Mom will make me stay in bed til 7 or 8am. Sorry you didn't get any reward for your puppy class. Hootie graduates tomorrow. love & Airekisses, BabyRocketDog
ReplyDeleteG'day matie
ReplyDeleteNope none of us have ever had our ears glued down. Willow's kinda stick up when she's trimmed short but she still looks gorgeous.
We didn't have bleeding gums when we went through teething either.
Gosh as far as sleeping through the night. Sometimes we don't do that now.
Know wonder our pinkies are usually bleery eyed hehe.

Thanks for all the info everyone. I think your ears all look fantastic just the way they are! perhaps we will start an ear pop watch on our blog? An extra big thanks to Lucia who sent my mom an e-mail to make her feel much better about everything.
ReplyDeleteAwwwwww (blush!!) grazie mille, Diggers' mama!
ReplyDeleteTanti baci!

Hello Digsby !
ReplyDeleteYou are perfect, your ears are just fine.
My Véronique don't even knew I have been teething. Can you imagine this ? She asked the vet when it will happen and he said : it is done already.... And I was 6 month when I could sleep all night. But I am a female. Dyos is now 9 month and he cannot sleep all the night....
Hope it helps you a little bit,
Kisses, Faya
Hello Digsby
ReplyDeleteYou are one handsome Dale . When Mom tried to glue my ears she got it all over my face. . She even glued her fingers together. Then she tok me back to the breeder and she glued them (in a parking lot)because they had to meet in the middle she lived so far away. Then Mom took me to a breeder who lived closer and I unglued them myself. Then Mom gave up. So now I have one ear that is perfect and Dad calls my other ear a radar ear because it flys all over but I am as cute as ever and my parents and brother Jag love me just the same . Sorry we could not help.

there was a puppy in my puppy class that has had bleeding gums the instructor said it is from teathing and that is the only won who did it might be the norm for some dogs
ReplyDeletehope this helps Izzy
Hey, Diggs!
ReplyDeleteI'm catching up on your last 3 posts, and I have to tell you that I'm having to pry my girl away from the puter screen. She LOVES staring at your face and she just keeps cracking up. (She almost peed looking at your photos and reading over my shoulder!)
Dude, you've got to get a better PR firm working for you. For making it through barking and treat class (OK - obedience class) you deserve at LEAST some ice cream or something. Seriously. Your sulky face, however, is superb. I wouldn't change a thing about it!
As for the fries made in the French peoples' fashion ~ good thing you discovered them early on! They are HEAVEN, aren't they? One tip ~ always have your mom check the bottom of the bag they came in. There is almost always one stray fry in there hiding. And, you deserve those fries for all the help you do around the house. You're a natural with the laundry.
Okay. Congratulations on the honest scrap award! I'm finding out some very interesting things about you, man. Don't fret over the reflection thing. We ALL have issues, man.
Goober love & smooches,
Stanley
Diggers, none of us ever had our ears glued. Well, maybe Patches did...we don't know since she came to live here when she was 5 years old. None of us have perfect Aire-ears, but we don't care! We aren't trying to be show dogs, anyway! We have heard that somedoggies make their gums bleed when they are teething, but we don't know if it's normal or not. Sorry, maybe you need to talk to your vet. None of us were little puppies when we came here.
ReplyDeleteAire-hugs,
Poppy, Penny & Patches
