Jogging

Yesterday I did something with mom I hadn't heard of before. It’s kind of like doing zoomies but you go in more of a long straight line and you don’t go as fast as you can. Instead you go sort-of slow so you can just keep going and going and going. The strangest thing is that if you smell something interesting you don’t get to stop to investigate you JUST KEEP GOING. Mom calls this jogging.
Jogging requires special equipment called sneakers.
These are my mom’s sneakers.
If you stick your nose in there you can really smell all the other times she has gone jogging. She thought if I went with her that I would be tired and then I wouldn’t wake up in the middle of the night. As you can see I’m not tired
I’m not even a little bit sleepy. Really I’m just going to snuggly my bear for a few seconds, and rest my eyes a little bit. I could go.......jogging any......(Yawwwn).......time you want.

I have the……have the….endurance…the endur-(yawwwn)-ance of a gazzzzz.z.z.z.z.z.z.z.z.z.z

Changed My Mind

After an incident last night with one of the new cats I have changed my mind. You may remember than in the past I was pro-cat. I was also determined to make any cat love me; I even felt that with time I would be able to turn even an anti-dog cat to my side. Well, one of the cats (let’s just call him fluffy booger eyes because I don’t think he deserves a name) attacked me. He charged right up the stairs towards me. Now don’t panic, his little puny kitty claws couldn’t penetrate my impressive Airedale Armor of fur but it still upset me. Even this wasn’t enough to put me off cats. I still believed we could be friends but then Fluffy Booger Eye’s did something that, in my world, is UNFORGIVABLE. My mom stepped between us and that cat… that miserable smelly tiny fur-ball licker took a few whacks at MY MOM!
SO
I revise my previous feelings about cats. My new opinion is this, “Cats are bite sized and should be Chased, Caught, and Disposed of.”

I have moved

Just a brief post to let you know that I’m still here. We moved most of our stuff on Saturday, then spent two more days getting the leftovers out. Tuesday was the WORST! Mom and I cleaned the house for 12 hours. I barely had the strength to drag the last of my stuffies out to the truck, 12 hours! I am so pooped from this whole process that I think my left ear is the only part that doesn’t ache! All I want to do is lie in bed and watch animal planet.
I was getting nervous when all my stuff kept getting packed away but I started to feel better again on Saturday night when all my blankets showed up in my new room. Mom was even kind enough to remember to put out some of her dirty clothes for me, just so I would feel more comfortable. I was so patient during the move that Mom bought me a surprise. It’s a blue Giraffe from IKEA. I guess that in Sweden the Giraffes are blue, I wonder what color a Swedish Airedale is? I have to go nap now, all this typing is wearing me out. You should hear from me regularly again starting next week.

Still Packing

We are still packing. This is the wall of stuff so far. It looks kind of like Bogart’s house. I have been trying to spend some extra time with Errol (the stinky poo-poo head kitty) since he will be moving to a different house than me.Mom said there will be new kitties but they aren’t very nice. I believe in my ability to make everyone love me though so we will just have to wait and see what happens with these new “mean kitties”. I have decided that there is something about packing that I hate worse than not being able to chew on boxes, and I hate more than being bored, and is even more TERRIBLE than skipping my days at the park. The worst, most horrible thing about packing is when your mom gets Bored! Socks aren’t terrible but it is never ok to dress a dog. I come in these coordinating colors for a reason.

BLAHg - Boxes - Boobietraps

Why so blah you ask? Well this is why,
Packing.
Soo lame.
All mom has been doing is packing. I don’t really get it. You take a bunch of junk out of one spot and you put it in another spot and you’re not allowed to chew on it. What is the point? Mom said we are moving so that she will have more money to buy more toys. Let me tell you, it better be A LOT more toys, cause this whole process has been no fun for me! I want to play but she is always saying “I have to pack, we can play later.” I check to make sure she is working but it’s sooo boring, I try to entertain myself with Errol. Errol, also bored with this packing situation, did something unexpected the other day. That cat set a cat trap for me. He piled up the cushions on the blue couch and made it look like a nice stable place to be. Then (this is the evil genius part) he used himself as bait. He sat up on that couch and looked like a kitty, knowing that was exactly the thing which I can’t resist.
When I jumped up to show him my Digger style of kitty love, the cushions collapsed and I was stuck! The more I struggled the more entrenched I became. Errol just sat on his perch and laughed. I finally had to give up and ask more for help. At least she quit packing long enough for that. I’m going to go find a box I’m allowed to chew on, and hope things get more exciting soon. See Ya.
One day Errol, One day soon! The only thing I can promise is that you won't see it coming.

Questions from Mom

My mom wanted o ask you guys and your mom’s some stuff. She hasn’t ever had an Airedale before and can’t find what she is looking for online. Here she is…

Hello everybody I was hoping you could help me with a few questions about Airekids.
1. If you don’t glue the ears down will they stick straight up or will they just hang at a less perfect angle? I seem to find conflicting info on this.
2. During teething did your Airedales get bloody mouths? Diggs gets a bloody mouth sometimes and it seems to come from the back moler area. Is this normal? Should I be worried? He is still eating ok.
3. How long did it take before your Airekids started sleeping through the night?
4. Any other advice of any kind at all, or stories of warning would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance for the help. I’ll turn it back over to Digsby now.

OK Mom! I don’t care what these people tell you I am NOT going to let you put glue in my ears. No way, No how, Not now, Not ever! If I even think I smell Elmer’s in the same room as me I am soo outta here! You can just drop that thought RIGHT NOW!

Also wakeing up from 1 to 2:30 am is part of who I am! You should accept it. Maybe if you didn’t work all day and took a nap instead you could get up too and we could have some fun.

On a happier note…. I Graduated! There was no test so my attendance alone was enough. Mom just mumbled something about “thank goodness there was no test”.
I heard that and didn’t think that was very nice Mom! You aren’t doing a very good job today, and you should know I’m serious about that glue thing! Even a little whiff on the breeze….
Anyway, I graduated from puppy class and do you know what I got? NOTHING! I got Nothing. I did all those “sits,” “stays,” and “comes,” and I didn’t even get my name engraved on a plaque. I think I should have gotten something don’t you? Me too.
I'm going off to be sulky in a corner now. Talk to you guys later.

French Fry's

Mom asked to see my collar for a min and she added some new bling.
Now I’ve got an address tag, a rabies tag (even thought I don’t have rabies), a license tag (Mom still won’t let me drive) and a chip tag (which tastes nothing like chips). Now when I walk down the street everyone knows how important I am by how much I jingle. The bad thing is that now Errol knows when I’m coming and has time to hide. He must have found a new hiding place because I can never spot him anymore like I used to.
I made a new discovery this weekend as well.
French Fry’s.
“what’s a French fry” I said. Yummy I like to eat them sideways, that way I get the flavor all the way across my tongue.
Nom nom nom What do you mean it’s empty? Are you sure there aren’t any in there? Mom did you try looking under the carton? Maybe there is a french fry underneath? I was soo appreciative of the french fry’s that the next day I helped with laundry. See you all soon.

Sick

I was sick this weekend. Just a little cold nothing to worry about, but I did spend lots of time snoozing. I still managed to make my rounds of the house to protect us against monsters. I checked in all the important places.
I looked under the dirty laundry I checked in the Tub I even looked down the drain to make sure nothing was crawling up it Then I checked to make sure the blankets were safe Once I knew the house was secure I settled down to watch some Buffy reruns. I personally feel the show went downhill after the werewolf left).
See you next time, Diggers

Monster Saturday with the Monster Dogs

This weekend was mostly awesome. On Friday I went over to Moose’s house so my Mom could go play with her friends. It’s taken a few visits but Moose is starting to warm up to me.
I don’t mind all the barking and he has a really cool monster toy that shakes and makes crazy noises when you drop it on the ground. So I dropped it on the ground a lot. That night I was so pooped that we slept in the next morning.
I think I’ve decided that the best thing about having a people family is having a people bed too! When we finally got up we had to go to the doctor’s office. I wasn’t too sure about going in there so I stuck close to mom. Once we were in the little green room things seems to be going ok,
until they stuck me with a needle. I was kind of pissed about this, as you can imagine, but the Doc gave me this chewy raw hide thingy so I said we could still be friends.
Just when I thought the whole thing was over and we had resolved everything peacefully that Doctor grabbed my face and squirted some type of juice right in my nose hole! Well. I wasn’t going to stand for this! My Mom explained that it had to be done so I could go to the dog park. This didn’t mean anything to me until she explained what a dog park was and gave me another chewy thing.
I was still a little miffed but I felt better about it, at least they weren’t being mean for fun.

After the doctors we stopped by to see my cousins the Monster Dogs. I’ve never met them before this weekend but I had a picture of them on the fridge. This made up for the whole nose squirt thing and now we are totally square! My cousins are a special breed of monsters that are designed to look like dogs.

The little one is called Mojo, the Rottweiler
and the big one is called Sultan, the Bull Mastiff.

I’ve never met any other monsters before but my mom said that they are even bigger than normal monster dogs. When I first met them their sheer size was so overpowering my teeny tiny bladder couldn’t take it. Mom figured this would happen so she made me wait to meet them in the front yard. They were so scary I had to learn to play with them one at a time at first. Once I got to know them they weren’t scary AT ALL!

The biggest danger I faced was drowning in Sultan slobber,

or falling over dead from having too much fun with Mojo!
Sometimes I would need a time out so I would run over to Steph and Phil to take a break.
Mojo was just the right height to stand on top of, and Sultan was so big that he was still taller than me when he was lying down.
When he stood up I could walk right underneath him and barely had to duck my head.

Sometimes when I was annoying Mojo too much Sultan would come over and just pin me against his chest. Most dogs would pin you to the floor but not Sultan the monster dog, he would just hold me between his chin and chest with no problem what-so-ever. I almost fell asleep in the grass I had soo much fun. I can’t wait to go over there again!

Sunday was really chill. It was so chill that we don't have any pictures from it. Mom got a new truck battery so she can drive me to my first puppy class tonight, and then we just watched the game. Just a normal day loafing around. I’ll let you know all about my first day at school just as soon as I get the chance! Mom said there are going to be other puppies, I’m soo excited!
